Curt's all-time favorite photograph of Lady.

I wonder where to begin when telling people about this most wonderful of people. Before I fully write the article, I am going to interview her so we get it all straight. To be continued soon...

I first got to know Lady because she and Juli were my first models from Colombia. This was about 5 years ago. I was struck by her very gentile ways. We would have live chats between the models, Memo, their incredible photographer, and myself. She was always very polite and attentive, always contributing to the conversation. I learned later that she was, even at 15, sort of  the Mother Superior of all the models. She made sure they were ready for the shoots, looking great. She also did a lot of the photography herself, shooting almost all of the interior shots.



Memo, the photographer, is one of my all time favorites. He can spot the perfect location for lighting and backgrounds making the photographs have this very natural, slice-of-life quality to them. I truly consider him the best model photographer on the planet for the kind of photography we do on these model sites. While other photogs resort to complicated lighting schemes and glittering gadgetry, Memo brings out the magic of the girl and eliminates all the barriers. I feel more like I'm experiencing the presence of the model with Memo's pictures.

You do a lot. Also take pix of the other models when it's indoors. You do hair and makeup and get them outfitted.

You and Memo were once romantically involved. Does that make it hard to do pictures with him as photog?

He always takes my pictures. It's actually easier because I know him and trust him. He makes it easy for me.

Have you ever had any scary moments while out shooting pictures?

Sometimes I'm in a small bikini and a someone passes by. Sometimes we got to far away locations. Sometimes the roads are very bad. We go on motorcycle sometimes.

Thank you. Once I wrote a poem to go in a song. One line said, "Just give me one look or a gentle wish, I wouldn't need no alibi for coming by. When I see your face, I see the promise of a gentle wish, which is like a wish from the heart. I always think of you with a gentle wish.
